Medical Assistant
We are currently hiring Medical Assistants for Chickahominy Family Physicians Quinton and Providence Forge offices to work with our team of 8 providers. We are an established family practice located in New Kent County, just a short drive east of downtown Richmond.
Previous healthcare experience is preferred, but not required, as we are willing to train appropriate candidates who are personable, motivated, and have excellent customer service and communication skills.
This would also be a good position for someone looking to gain healthcare experience prior to applying to nursing, PA, or medical schools, however the ability for at least a 6-9 month commitment for these individuals is preferred due to training requirements.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Greet patient and accompany them to exam room
- Complete visit intake by obtaining vital signs, reviewing medical history, updating medication list, reviewing allergies, and documenting reason for visit in EHR (Athena).
- Process lab specimens and point-of-care tests. We do have a Labcorp phlebotomist on-site who performs most phlebotomy, but occasional phlebotomy may be required.
- Prepare and clean patient exam rooms.
- Communicate with patients via phone and patient portal to answer patient questions, communicate lab results, and relay messages from providers.
- Assist practice in completing Medicare Annual Wellness visits and meeting quality and value based care goals.
Job type:
Full-time. Expected work hours are 7:45am-4:30pm, in person only
Salary range:
[$17 - $20], negotiable dependent upon experience.
