We are searching for a talented Surgical Booking Specialist


Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day Shift, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Location: Swansea Family Practice - Swansea, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 20 hours.

Responsibilities: Under direction of Director of Operations and/or Service Line Manager, perform all complex surgical scheduling and all non-surgical procedures ordered by providers in a multi-specialty surgical practice. Responsible for maintenance of surgical calendar and templates for all providers. Keep surgeons calendar in Outlook, update as necessary. Work closely with hospital OR staff to ensure continuity and avoid scheduling conflicts. Work very closely with third party payers to ensure that all surgical procedures and out patient testing are approved. Review and submit for authorization for all CPT/ICD9 codes that will be billed. Responsible for providing financial options for patient without insurance coverage. Well versed in communicating financial options for cosmetic procedures. Will perform a variety of office, patient care, clerical and other related duties in support of assigned physician practice, as needed. Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in related field or equivalent education and experience required.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology required.
  • Over three years up to and including five years experience in a medical office required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired
Pay Range: USD $20.24 - USD $34.52 /Hr.
